๐ East Cheshire Hospice & Just Drop In are our Local Charity Partnerships for 2025/26 ๐
We are delighted to announce that our local charity partners for 2025/26 will be East Cheshire Hospice and Just Drop In! ๐
The partnerships mean a continuation of our long-standing relationship with East Cheshire Hospice and a new partnership with Just Drop In; a charity that supports young people in Macclesfield, Bollington, Wilmslow, Knutsford and Poynton who are finding life hard! ๐
Our partners for 2025/6 were selected from a number of local charities nominated by employees from across the Campus. Their selection follows a review of their subsequent applications carried out by a cross-section of people from different teams on Campus. ๐ค
Whilst these decisions are very difficult, we will continue to work with the charities who werenโt successful via our employer volunteering scheme if appropriate. We are also working with the Silklife Foodbank on a transition plan of support for the coming months and years to maintain our relationship and support outside of our formal programme. As well as this, we will also continue to work with Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) for critical on-site screening for Campus employees.๐ค
Being a formal charity partner means that all funds raised by employees will be matched by AZ up to ยฃ30k for each over the next two years and we will agree a series of event sponsorship. ๐ฐ
If you would like to donate to our partner charities, here are the 2025/26 JustGiving pages:

Always seeking to become more efficient, reduce waste and make meetings more purposeful, Rowan Pierce (Engineering Optimisation Lead) from the Sodexo team at Macclesfield Campus has developed a resource allocation model using historical data, forecasted demand and survey insight to highlight opportunities for optimisation and to allow the team to focus their efforts on business-critical activities.
Prior to the optimisation, Quality events were tracked and monitored using a manual dashboard and updated in a daily Quality meeting, with the associated metrics feeding into the daily tiers. The creation of the dashboard in the Enterprise Quality Vault (EQV) system means the team can display the required live metrics for the daily tier meetings with the ability to drill down into individual events and access live updates, reducing the weekly meeting load by at least two hours per week for each team member whilst aligning operations with digitisation goals.
Through further optimisation, an additional eight hours per week have been gained for each of the four asset reliability engineers (AREs) to focus on maintenance optimisation. In total, ten individuals (four Asset Reliability Engineers, one asset Reliability Engineering Manager, two Asset Reliability Coordinators, and three Asset Reliability Apprentices) are benefiting from the combined changes.
A fantastic example of how digitisation can make our teams more effective in their day-to-day work.
